Jay Woodson
About Jay Woodson
Before Jay Woodson got his “Big Break,” he ran roughshod over the competition at the State Open of Virginia. During the early- to mid-2010s, no one played better than Woodson in the Commonwealth’s pre-eminent competition. From 2012-16, he won four State Opens and once finished as runner-up to Lanto Griffin, who went on to later win on the PGA Tour. “Not a bad little stretch,” he says.
Crowning Moment…
Woodson won Golf Channel’s Big Break Mexico Invitational competition, earning a $100,000 first prize.
