Jack Isaacs

About Jack Isaacs

Talk about improving with age. Isaacs didn’t win his first State Open of Virginia title until he was 42. He reached the semifinals of the PGA Championship at age 45 and qualified for the British Open after turning 50. He credited it all with a DIY in-home practice setup that included a mat to hit golf balls into a mattress in his garage and a “putting green” that was really a living-room rug.

Crowning Moment…

The definition of a late bloomer, Isaacs didn’t win his first Virginia PGA Open title until age 42 in 1949, but that began a successful run that culminated in a final title in 1961.
